NB. Whilst the webinar will be talking about UK law and services that wont necessarily apply in other countries, a lot of the underlying principles will be the same

This webinar will be hosted by Kirsty Woodard of Ageing Without Children Consultancy has over 25 years of experience of working in the field of ageing. She began in the early 1990s running an advocacy and advice service for older people before becoming the manager of Well & Wise healthy living centre for older people, a partnership of 13 member organisations in Camden. She went on to advise Age UK on social care policy and service development models. She has been a freelance consultant and trainer since 2007 working with third-sector organisations, mostly on redesigning services for older people and making them more sustainable. She founded AWwoC in 2014 in response to the invisibility of older people without children or family in discussions and planning on ageing.
Kirsty will be joined by:
Heledd Wyn from Gregg Latchams provides full consultancy services relating to estate planning, long term care and asset protection. She also specialises in making applications to the Court of Protection on behalf of those who lack capacity to make decisions for themselves. Her client range from business owners to individuals and is happy to have discussions with anyone to see if she can help. Heledd is a member of STEP and sat on the STEP Mental Capacity Global Special Interest Group for six years. She is an accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is proud to be a trustee of BRACE – an independent charity committed to defeating dementia through supporting scientific research.

Michael Roche is Technical Adviser – Social Care in the Independent Age Advice team. He supports the advisers in their work with older people who seek support from the organisation. He also carries out a range of other roles across the Independent Age including supporting their policy and influencing work.
